- Begun in 2021, the Senior Pet Advocates initiative was formed by Heidi Lobprise, DVM, DAVDC with input from a number of individuals, including Sonnya Dennis, DVM, ABVP (C/F)
- Individual specialists from all fields are being recruited to help provide information and links to practical guidelines and tips.
- Behavior, dentistry, anesthesia and pain, internal medicine, nutrition, wellness, welfare, dermatology, oncology, pharmacology, nutrition, hospice and end-of-life care, practice management, among others
- General practitioners with a strong interest in senior and geriatric care have also been invited to participate in the Task Force, as well as individuals from other veterinary related fields such as media and industry.
- The Task Force is the initial effort in building the comprehensive resource library platform and future resources.
